CMArt Week 4

Hello,

Week 4 in CMA we played around with the Magic Bevel plug-in, which surprisingly gives you a fair bit of freedom when designing (well compared to bandsaw form last week anyway). We made a surreal teapot using that tool, learned how to add some pre-installed textures and also played with 3D text.

First off, here is a screenshot of my teapot in Modeler, the handle and spout were created using the magic bevel tool:

This is the rendered version of my teapot with some lizard skin surface texture applied to it:

Next we played around with the Text tool in modeler which seemed simple enough to use, except that I couldnt edit my text on the fly for some reason which seems silly. Anyway I played around with the magic bevel tool on my text and added another texture. Screenshots show the progress in Modeler and rendered model in Lightwave:

So far it seems from what we've learned that creating a surreal kitchen should be simple enough.

In regards to another model for the end of the semester, I would love to do something like this:

Although we'll see how good my skills are before I decide to attempt it.
